About the Program
The Cooperative Parenting Program is a psycho-educational video-based
approach focusing on the enhancement of the child(ren)'s functioning within
their family. The program addresses the relationship between separate households
created as a result of divorce or family separation. It is designed to improve
the quality of the parental relationship. The group format is suited for those
parents exhibiting mild to moderate levels of conflict. This stimulating and
compassionate program can be easily implemented with groups of divorced parents over
an eight week period. Parents meet once a week for two hours.
Cooperative Parenting and Divorce explores the issues associated with divorce through
a group format that incorporates skill development, small and large group discussions,
role plays, application and homework assignments. It offers specific, proven-effective
activities that can be implemented easily and safely, while creating a supportive
group environment. The program components consist of a Leader's Guide,
Parent
Guide and video. It is the most extensive interactive
resource to date examining the complex realities of divorce.
This thoughtful and practical program can be facilitated by mental health professionals,
mediators, special masters, parenting coordinators and parent educators employed
by private institutions, universities, social services agencies, hospitals,
churches, schools and court system.

Endorsements by Parents:
"I came in with a negative attitude. I left learning a lot about myself and
my son."
"I am greatly impressed with the outcome of this course. I wish this had existed
many years ago. I have learned many new ways to deal with and handle situations
that I have encountered. I would recommend this course to anyone."
"My co-parent and I practiced the skills as we learned them. Friends and relatives
complimented us on the changes we made. They saw us getting along better,
but more importantly, they noticed that our son seemed happier."
"I've come to understand
that no matter how much I hate my co-parent, I can't continue to let it show
because of the damage it causes to my child!"
"I like what I had learned in the mandated divorce seminar and I wanted to
learn more. I am really happy I voluntarily signed up to complete the eight
week Cooperative Parenting course. I wish it went longer because I learned
so much and I really enjoyed the support."
"When the judge told me I had to come to this Cooperative Parenting group
I was really p***** o***! Yet I was surprised, it really was a good use of
time. I didn't realize how I was hurting my child and how I was holding on
to my bitterness. I realized I was playing the victim, but I'm not interested
in doing that anymore!"
